Roche-owned Chugai Pharma to ramp up in-house output with 50% capex boost

Chugai will build a new research lab at its Ukima plant in Tokyo. (Chugai) TOKYO — Chugai Pharmaceutical intends to invest around 100 billion yen ($635 million) a year in facilities and equipment by 2028 as the Japanese drugmaker seeks to reduce outsourcing and increase in-house production to cut costs.
