The Korea Polar Research Institute's icebreaker Araon set off on July 11 for its 17th Arctic voyage. The ship, which can carry about 45 standard shipping containers, is also used to resupply South Korea's Antarctic research stations. But sometime in the next several weeks, if everything goes to plan, one ship will begin a landmark voyage north to the Arctic Ocean.
