First Fuel Loading Begins at Tianwan Unit 7 — CNNC Implants the ‘Energy Heart’ of a 900MW-Plus Nuclear Base

On August 12, the first fuel assembly was precisely loaded into the reactor core of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant Unit 7, marking the start of first fuel loading for the largest nuclear base in the world by installed and under-construction capacity. The China-Russia flagship project will see Units 7 and 8 enter commercial operation in 2026 and 2027.
