(Photo by Ken Kobayashi) Eight people were killed and 22 others were injured in shootings that occurred on Aug. 7 at a school and a residence in Bang Kruai district in Nonthaburi province, on the outskirts of Bangkok, Thailand. The shooter was a 14-year-old male student at Debsirin Nonthaburi School. He first killed his grandparents at their home in the Bangkok suburbs before heading to the school, where he fatally shot five teachers and one female student. The suspect then shot and killed himself, bringing the death toll to nine. In the aftermath of the tragedy, flowers were placed around the school, and an electronic memorial screen honoring the victims was set up on campus. At the temple where the funeral of female student Naphat Chaima was held, ceremonies continue. Friends and other mourners gathered to pay their respects. Some classmates were seen in tears. Her father said, "I'm not thinking about it. It's all in the past. I'm not blaming anyone. The person who committed [this act], we also don't know what his circumstances were.
